For over 30 years, industry leaders and recycling champions have chosen Orwak compactors and balers for their organization. Listed below is just some of the companies who have trusted Orwak North America.
HMSHost, the world's largest provider of food, beverage and retail services for travelers, was looking for new ways to manage and reduce waste costs at their nine Starbucks stores in the Atlanta International Airport, so they invested in anOrwak 3110 and the "milk jug pilot" was born. As of a few years ago, the program had kept approximately 135 thousand milk jugs, or about 7.5 tons of plastic milk jugs and syrup containers, out of landfills. That number continues to grow each year.
“Recycling is allowing our stores to run more sustainable operations with measurable benefits. Funds from recycling the commodity can help offset the costs to recycle. We also have the satisfaction of knowing that the plastic jugs [at our 9 Starbucks stores in the Atlanta Airport] are recycled into new materials, completing the recycling value chain.”
Over 100 Family Dollar and Dollar Tree stores use Orwak balers to compact cardboard boxes and plastic film. This has lead to a safer, cleaner work environment and reduced clutter in the back rooms, while increasing recycling rates.
"Approximately 18 years ago, the College purchased a model 8020 baler from Orwak. It served us very well over the years with minimal breakdowns. In 2009, we decided we needed to upgrade our baler to a more efficient mode. We looked at several models including Orwak’s current offerings. As we compared costs, ease of operation and efficiency, we decided to again return to Orwak, and purchased a model 3410.
We were amazed at the capability of the 3410 to gobble up cardboard. Like most businesses, we are limited in storage space for cardboard. The larger size bale produced from the 3410 allows us to bale quickly, and yet take up a smaller foot print for staging the bales. We are very satisfied with Orwak, its product and customer service. We would recommend other businesses to look into their products when upgrading or purchasing their equipment."
"With the TOM compactors on site, even on a busy day just 1-2 bag switches are sufficient to handle all the trash. Before, we were constantly switching bags! The staff is loving it and the restaurant is much cleaner now."
